My iTunes hates me and my iPod. Have music on a backup hard drive. Can I ?

Quite a few programs out there.
Used to use winamp it allows you to drag and drop folders from explorer but its been a bit buggy recently, now using media monkey.
Google itunes alternative to see what else is about
