I can't find a definitive answer for this on either the Post Office or the ParcelForce websites! I have something I've sold on eBay to send; it's just over 10kg and I want it insured to £150 so that means ParcelForce 48 but I don't know if I can drop off for ParcelForce at Post Offices.
(I would use Parcel2ship or Parcel2go but won't be at home to get it collected, and the ParcelForce depot is the other side of Edinburgh.)
I am almost sure you can pay for it on-line and drop it off at the Post Office, I had a similar problem last year and can't for the life of me remember how I sorted it out.I may be going to Post Office this afternoon anyway so I'll ask and post on here.
Yes, you can just go to the Post Office and drop off the item and pay for it. They will also print out the label etc. and give you a barcode receipt so that you and the other party can track the item online.
