I've got one. Its got a great screen but small, so txting and emails are pretty slow. Its pretty close to the smallest smart phone you can buy though so its always going to be a compromise.
The Ray looks good but the single core processor will struggle with ICS. My note did and that was dual core 🙁
what is ICS?
all i "know" is that it should have at least Android 2.3
the Ray seems to get pretty good reviews from GSM, Techradar etc...

ICS is Ice Cream Sandwich. The most up to date Android version. Mum has the Ray and she likes it. Mrs Has the Xperia S and hates it. I like my Samsungs though. The OS is tweaked and not a huge amount different from iOS which is designed to be very simple to use.
