Can anyone recomend one of those fold away camping tables that seat 4 and have the seats atached, dont mind paying for quality but I want one that is robust and not going to wobble and bend when you sit on it.
We've had 3 different ones in various price brackets, they all struggle to cope with adults sat on them, tbh.
I'd go for a table and separate stools/chairs at the appropriate height.
You coudl get somethign a bit higher off the ground for food prep etc and have the seatign availabel to use away from the table if you went down that route, too.
I understand what you are getting at wwaswas but the problem I have at the moment is I have 2 kids 4&6 so they end up in kids chairs at a table appropriate for them then we end up with another table for me and the missus at our chair heigh. I was trying to get away from the two table issue.
There are 2 types, attached seats and separate seats the all fit in just the same 'package'.
I would only recommend going really high end, the lower end cheaps on the links and fittings (plastic not metal) and they are tooo fragile.
Also I think the more expensive ones dont trap fingers quite so readily when putting away (very ouch).
I was looking at the skandika one but I have no idea if it is any good, it's certainly more expensive then most of the others but I'm not sure if that is a sign of quality or just paying too much
I do remember a review of a really good one in the paper a couple of years ago cant for the life of me remember who made it though google ends up bringing up the same cheapo plastic ones all the time
we had the same issue Bernard - we did persevere with the seat attached tables due to space limits and because it meant the kids had somewhere to sit and colour etc if it rained. They're ok as long as you're carful getting up and down but it is a bit 'parents evenign at school sat at in mini seats ata mini table' for the adults.
Looks just like mine, its OK but they are bit flimsy. Perfect for youngsters, esp. couloring and playing on hols. but adults have to be careful.
TBH youngsters need the attached seats to stop them falling all over the place as they fidget, kneel, stretch, lean ...... separates seats only good for adults.
