We will be in touch
The signal for my O2 phone is non existent in our new house. I'm trying to use and old blackberry instead of my iPhone in the hope that I can pick up texts and calls over our wifi.
Looking further ahead, do any other brands, ie android based do calls/texts over the web or is it just blackberry?
It may well result in switching networks further down the line, but wor lass is on orange and having O2 as alternative network when out in the middle of nowhere on the bikes is appealing.
Various apps will do calls and messaging over WiFi - Skype and WhatsApp are two that spring to mind. Never had a blackberry so I don't know how that works.
There's a vodafone thing you can get called SureSignal, which is a box that makes sure you get signal in your home through the landline, or something. Again, never used it
Yeah I have used whatsapp, great for when there's only wifi, but not everyone has it. Looks like O2 are trailing something similar to suresignal but no release date
skype on android can obviously call land lines as well as other skype users.
