I have this really nasty pain on the top of my (right) foot when wearing running shoes/ astro-turf trainers as if the laces are done up too tight but they're not.

i have an indoor Frisbee competition next weekend and really don't want to be given any grief.

any experience or exercises?

thanks a bunch peoples.

Catch the Frisbee with your teeth.

No idea about the foot.

I have a similar problem most noticeable in ski boots but also with some regular shoes/boots. A foot bed which raises my arches and keeps my feet in the proper position fixed the problem for me.

Have you tried lacing them up differently?

i found that different brands of shoe needed different lacing styles to keep their pressure points away from mine on the top of my foot - some were crisscross, some the traditional lace and army boots needed a single lace.

without trying to teach you how to tie shoelaces - I never knew there were so many ways to lace a shoe!

Do you have a running shop with gait analysis near by? They could be worth speaking with.

Could be a neuroma, I had one, painful, ended up having a couple of ops and being a right palaver, is often fixed with cortizone injections.

Get your feet measured for width. I went from being able to wear anything to a wide fit in a very short space of time.
