Haven't been for a drink there for ages.

What's a nice, smart pub/bar maybe near the Abbey area?

Cheers!

The Raven is hardly "smart" though, and Tim who runs it is a right flecker too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nah, they're all in Brizzle. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Darcy, would the Huntsman be more up your alley? ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Salamander? Great selection of Bath ales and the missus rates teh wine too.

The Marlborough and the King William are more top-end gastro pubs although a bit further from the Abbey.

Wait till I fink a minute...

Oh I know, The Hop Pole is a lovely pub...good food, Bath Ales, a nice little beer garden out the back (well, not so little)...about a ten minute walk from the centre across from the kids' playground in Victoria Park (twixt some grotty industrial type buildings though) on Upper Bristol Road.

Actually, a nicer walk to it would be heading out of town, take in the Royal Crescent (yawn) on your right...then left down Marlborough Lane or whatever it's called, then rightish across Victoria Park...listen for the screaming kids and cross the main road to the pub.

Try a Summers Hare while yer in there.

The Hop Pole is a bit of a walk!

Coeur de Lion is right by the Abbey, the Old Green Tree is on Green St and Lambretta's is on North Parade. These three, with the Salamander used to be my favorite city centre haunts.
