anyone from on here ride out from Stroud / outlying villages and put loops together?

Noah's Ark is a very good LBS to have!

My mate has a restaurant/b&b in Painswick, let me know if you've family or friends that need somewhere to eat/stay and I'll see if I can help ya out ๐Ÿ˜‰

oh and don't be alarmed at the communal pool, they were just born there.

oh and DON'T DRINK THE WATER!

You're near some really nice villages and market towns: Tetbury, Cirencester, Frampton Mansell ;o), you're not too far from Bath (about 30miles) oh - and there's a gliding club at Chalford.

But best of all - Stroud has a Waitrose!

Brimscombe is Stroud's answer to the forest.

I ride from Tetbury, Sheepscombe and Duntisbourne Leer for the most part so I've got Brimscombe surrounded. There is no shortage of riding.

We often have big group rides. If you want to join us drop me a mail (my user name at gmail.com).

Lived and ride there for 3 years,in the late 70,s fantastic place, bit hippy and very green, i believe now they have Tesco and running internal water in their homes, also there are a few people with phones in their homes.

Good train service to London town as well.

Qwerty,

Bigfoot MTB Club rides out of Gloucester doing routes all over including a few around Stroud and days away. Seem like a friendly bunch.

Dont believe all the hype about Cheltenham.......

some of the shops are ok, but the staff in them send you perverted picture messages if you're not careful

i've been to stroud twice btw, bought a bike from there once in 1997

Are Bigfoot still going? Rode with them for a while back in the day. Try not to spend too much money with Noah's Ark. Much better and friendlier shops in Cheltenham.

Your nearest cool place will be Bristol. ๐Ÿ˜›

I live in Stonehouse which some regard as the arse end of Stroud, but I'm quite happy here.
I do most of my riding with mbswindon, which might seem a bit odd since it's 45 minutes to Swindon from here. I also ride occasionally with cccc (cc cc) aka Cheltenham and County Cycle Club.
There's loads to do round here.

Forest of Dean is pretty close as our Mendips, Quantocks and then Cwm Carn, Afan, Cannock etc.

Prepare yourself to leave behind the thousands of art galleries, museums, music venues, theatres, etc, in which to stretch your imagination, not to mention a large number of colleges and universities to enrich your mind. I can't believe there are any compensations in the form of countryside, mountain bike trails or lack of congestion which will go any way to make up for that.
