Hey all

Just wondering about getting a replacement window. The window in question is pretty much the biggest we have at 154 x 241cm; white georgian style (ie got the pvcu crosses built into the units) with a transoms on each side above a bigger conventional sideways opening on each side. Center section is one piece of glass, i.e., no bar across the middle.
Kinda like this one but NOT leaded.

Can anyone give me a ball park figure on it, either supplied or fitted? Just trying to get a budget sorted out! NW based if anyone can recommend a fitter.

Thanks!

Rich

Thanks PP. Would that be fitted price, or just the window on its own?

I managed to find a price of £620 inc VAT, I'd be looking at about £50.00m² for installation.
I couldn't possibly vouch for the performance or quality of these windows, but the calculator is useful.

Wow, that's very useful dj - thanks! Had a price just now from the builder of 850 so we're somewhere in the ballpark.

About £430 fitted if you only had one window at a time. The price per window would come down by the more you have.
The main thing which bumps up the price of that window is the amount of openers.

Just go to your local fabricator, fax or email sizes, dont forget to take of a few mm for tollerance against your structural opening, get a price off them and fit it yourself. Really, they are a doddle to fix. 4 hammer fixings into each side, foam up with expanding foam and silicone / mastic. It would take you a morning at the most.

Only one problem with that lowey - I'm a total gibbon who once managed to fit a Chris King aheadset using a hammer, a lump of wood and a piece of concrete. The wife gets nervous when I mention DIY...

Yes fitted.

I found when I was looking last year that prices varied pretty wildly.

I didn't go for the cheapest but the best 'value'.

I paid £730 for 2 (2000 x 1200) windows fitted. They were white upvc, graded 'a', with new window caps and trickle vents.

As therag says it's the openers that is the big effector on price.
