I think you'll find that William Shatner's version is definitive.

That is just as shit as his actually having now listened to it [ well nearly]
Indeed. Any song Shatner covers, is better when Shatner covers it.
rock v's electro...
it seems to me like I'm overhearing it out of phase, leaking out of some yoots Beats on the bus.. (yes I know I sound old)
Shatner's 'Rocketman' is simply epic.

^^^ thatt!
The original by the sight assisted Mr Cocker is a fantastic tune which brings back good memories of a great time in my life.
That however is bloody rubbish.
Dogshit
I was kind of hoping it was actually going to be a hitherto undiscovered Pulp cover of "I Feel Love"
"By far one of the best" โ
I think you'll find that William Shatner's version is definitive.
It definitely is - Its a great song but Pulp's original underplays the best bits of it - the last half of the song is sort of thrown away but its where the best observed lyrics are. Although Shantner camps it up a bit he really gets to the heart of what the song is about.
I always preferred the original.
In my opinion one of the greatest songwriters is Jarvis.
if we are going for bad mixes then this one was on my "in the mix '96" cassette;
Shatner's 'Rocketman' is simply epic.
"Epic" doesn't even come close to describing the live performance.
Still gives me goosebumps
