Anyone have any idea what the download limit on BT Broadband is and what happens if you exceed it?

Do they cut you off, slow you down, let you know that you are getting close to your limit?

I was charged £13 for going over my limit once in 3 years (after downloading the AC/DC back catalogue), no warning or anything.

I am now with Sky on a quicker and unlimited package and saving £7 a month too.

When I cancelled they asked why I didn't call them earlier as they would refund the charge if I had asked. Err...

I run a webserver from behind a BT line and fairly regularly put 30+gb through it, but have never been moaned at. 30-40gb is normally considered "high but acceptable" use. Any more than that and you're taking the P a bit.
