By bike.. Google wants me to go down the A5 - some kind of cycleway or something? Anyone got better ideas?

"car" mode gives the A5, "cycle" mode gives A41

Not for me, it really really wants me to go down the A5. Which would be best do we think?

Get onto the A41 and the then Finchley Road, at Swiss Cottage aim straight down to Regents Park. Through that aim for Russell Sq and then onto Waterloo.

There are bus lanes from the Brent Cross/North Circular roundabout down to Swiss Cottage.

If you ask google for bike directions from Waterloo -> Brent Cross then you get pretty much this whereas select Brent Cross -> Waterloo and it only gives you the A5 ๐Ÿ™‚

That used to be my daily commute when i lived in London (only a little shorter from Cricklewood/Kilburn).
The A5 wasn't actually too bad a road as it was mostly bus lane most of the way down to Hyde Park corner then easy past Bucks Palace, Parliament Square etc. Quite miss it actually as i don't bike commute all that much now i'm back in the midlands.

I've booked the Holiday Inn, claremont road looks good...?

EDIT mm I know the way from HPC that could be of use.. but then a scenic route through Regents Park could be good, I haven't been that way before.
