Hopefully not the case but if you have in the past how did recovery handle getting you on ferry, Eurostar?

From personal experience I would strongly recommend putting the right date on the policy and not that of the following month. If that's too much for you having a good friend who speaks the lingo helps. 😀

We had a van that killed an injector in freezing cold ski resort. Luckily we were at our destination and had tried to start it mid-week, so not stranded. Breakdown recovered it to a local garage as you'd expect but they couldn't fix it. We had to sort out getting ourselves home and then just send them the receipt to recover cost. Van turned up home about 3 weeks later.

Absolute nightmare for my son in rural Belgium last year. Not helped by friends all ****ing off home, and leaving him with a broken car. Had euro cover, car collected, he was dumped in a hotel many miles away from the car. Not AA's fult but their sub contractors. Fairly simple misfire, garage useless.  AA did re-book him tunnel/ferry etc so he just had to turn up once the car was working about 4-5 days later than he should have gone home.  he got compensation as the recovery left him in the middle of no-where, no car, heat wave and he's a T1 diabetic, on his own.
