After years of being shafted by the AA, I moved to Autoaid for the past few years and they have been very good, but their renewal has jumped from £43 to £59.
Green flag look good at £43 but am uncertain if this is vehicle or person specific, or if there any good...
and no my insurance doesn't include it or the option add it (unless I want green flag for more than if I go direct to them)

Start rescue. Cheap used a few times and all good.

Had a bad experience with auto aid and not paying rac/aa/Green flag prices.

Been with them for a while now.

I just got the wife's car covered with the AA for £55, fixed for 2 years after complaining about the price hike (it was going up to £70-something)
Wev'e only used them once in the time we've been with them but they were very quick at getting out.

Don't know who's good. I have had bad experience with rac. 3 hours on hard shoulder. Others I know have had similar. My friend had very good experience with green flag.

TBH unless you a priority (Lone female with kids), I think waiting is part and parcel of breakdowns. My issue is that you seemingly pay a premium to the AA/RAC and receive no better service than from greenflag/autoaid.
Liking the look of start rescue, cheers don

I'm with green flag, paying a lot more than what's quoted up there but it's a 1eyr old car with 135k miles on it and full transport you to your destination by train and have your car transported home cover, so it's a high risk to them!

Oddly the MG (which breaks down at least once every year) costs about the same to insure and includes free breakdown cover!

I have used autoaid for years and years.

One car is 20 years old 140k miles called them once in 6 years to work car park - within an hour even though I said I was there all day no rush.

One car was much younger 4 years old called them to home, also within an hour.

One car 3.5 years old totally battery failure blocking a busy junction (thanks VW stop start and cheapo Moll batteries), they were with us within 20 minutes.

Autoaid use local subcontractors, so who you get is a lottery but I think because of this if one local contractor is busy, they just ring the next one.

The AA or RAC can't do this, they are all their own branded operatives.

My one experience with RAC was being dragged off a motorway sliproad in 45 mins by a low loader, then deposited in a car park for another hour wait for another van to come with tools.
