*post edited for the STW pedants 😉
A wallet that takes coins is called a purse
Erm, pockets are for coins, wallets are for notes & cards.
Coins in wallets mean that you don't have a wallet, you have a purse. Is your 'wallet' in your handbag?
😈 😉
bums - 10 seconds too slow!
Coin?
Not in my "wallet", but I do have a 1902 Edward 7th Silver Crown on my desk.
1971 2p coin.

For a self pleasure fumble in front of the shop assistant?
I've got a 245BC Roman Republic Coin my wife bought me for Christmas, does that make me nerdy, and of the basis of

Gweilo - only if it's currently in your on-person coin storage area
Dang, though I was doing well with a 2p from 76!!
I have a pair of cufflinks on made from 1964 sixpences that my wife bought for me.
1964 - year I was born!!!

That's valid in my rules Trailrat!
2p from 1981
Am I allowed to check in the till to see if I can beat it?
edit: if I am then I can get to 1971 in legal tender. Interestingly the Royal mint must replace 20p coins quite often and all these seem to pretty new.
NJA - that's verging on nerdy coin collecting so doesn't count 😉
Two Scottish £1 notes - printed in 1992
Only on-person coins in your nominated currency transporter count towards the challenge.
But shop monkeys, by all means take a look in the till, but it's not valid that's all.
shop monkeys
I object to that. I am a Great Ape.
In my desk loose change receptacle (does this count?)
Five cents (US) - 1961
I've got a shiny rock i swapped for pointy stick in 5,000 BC
Hang on, not going to beat 1971 in legal UK tender are we... I was wondering why so many 1971 2p coins.
Bonus question - can you make this image from what in your pocket/purse/etc...
No, but I can from the collection of coins I kept especially for this purpose 🙂
1971 2p
1965 nickel
1978 Canadian cent
Tunisian coin with the date rubbed off it's THAT old
I have two 20p coins dated 1982.
unklehomered : you can have one if like, send me a stamped addressed envelope and you can own a true rarity from the halcyon era that was the 80's.
Ps : I am open to other offers if anyone is interested
😆
You should keep it, it will only increase in value!
1976 tuppence in my pocket. Better than I expected. Last a while, don't they?
I've got a 245BC Roman Republic Coin my wife bought me for Christmas
Er, is that the date it has on it?
I have a 1933 old penny.
I wish.
You should keep it, it will only increase in value!
Pffft, Not in the current economic climate with quantitative easing it won't,.......I'd better spend it on a 20p mixture.
I have a fake £1 coin in my wallet, that said it was faked in 1999.
Its waiting to go back to Gregs where it came from 😈
I have a 1912 penny in my wallet. Ashdown Workshop include one in an envelope with each one and I never took it out.

Cougar - re the roman coin
Er, is that the date it has on it?
oddly enough no, dating's based on the pictures on the coin. I checked to make sure she wasn't ripped off with a dude I went to school with, who is an ultra nerdy coin dealer.
Not in my personal coin storage area so I avoid the nerdy tag 😕
How about a George 3rd 1770 half penny found recently in the road dug up between Buckden and Hubberholme in the dales. Was walking out with my Mum and her eagle eye spotted it.
What about a £1 note, 1997?
