First excuse was that the post office had flooded.
Then having arranged to meet to collect the item today I get a text an hour before saying his son has a party to go to.
Then half an hour later one dating his son was teething.
Sharpen pitchforks?

Sounds like bollocks to me.
Some people lie because they are disorganised and a bit crap as well though so I'd hold off on a full scale nuclear attack until you are sure.
