But this is apparently true

Well they obviously didn't get the job based on their hairdressing ability.....

Isn’t this the problem with Johnson, that it’s impossible to easily discern fact from fiction as it’s all plausible due to his prior history.

I can believe that in the same way he had someone teaching him about technology.
Better to pay them as a hairdresser than try and get them a senior post in government I guess.

TBH I’m still amazed that it’s acceptable to get caught getting a nosh in your Parliamentry office and not have to resign.

Everything is acceptable with teflon boris.
Looking back, isn't it bizarre that Nick Clegg resigned for merely breaking an election pledge.

He had resigned a few years back as deputy whip when a prospective mp complained about his behaviour.
The tories investigation found no problems though and so he rose onwards and upwards.

What the hell is wrong with Westminster?

The UK endorsed crass nationalism (by a narrow margin) and this prompted a (further) decline in the general behaviour of those elected to parliament - both in the messaging it sent to the existing ones and the type of candidate it favours.

Resigning is just, like... SOOOOOOOOO twentieth century, yeah?

Drunkenly groping people is neither here nor there with this lot. It doesn't even register.

The press do see to be massively hinting that there's a whole world of super-injunctions presently going on out there, particularly with the fly-tipped sofa himself. It does make you wonder what the bloody hell really is going on behind the scenes, given the stuff we do know about that they're happy to just shrug and brazen out

Makes sense though:

'No, I actually like my hair looking like a crashed hay lorry, now, what are we going to do with the next half hour?'

I can't decide which is the worse mental image:

Boris getting noshed off by someone after a top job in the the Foreign Office
Some creepy old tory groping and abusing younger men with promises of success in the Conservative party

This is to say nothing of the Canadian hairdresser.

Endemic, from the top. Pure sleaze.

I can only wonder what history will make of this government and the road it's taken us down.

Very little shocks me anymore.

We have a long way to fall still.

Which is great.😐

Why stress the "Canadian" aspect of the story?

In seems sensible - in case there's more than one tale of debauchery with a hairdresser that comes out in the wash.

I’m just thinking about the briefing given to the ‘minder’ of Mr Pincher

“Yeah, could you just accompany him at all times and try and make sure he doesn’t sexually assault anyone?”

And that’s what passes for normal in the Tory party under Boris Johnson

I'm at the same stage with this as I was with Donald Trump. As soon as you think he's said/done something that will get him impeached or lose him support, he lowers the bar AGAIN. Johnson is the same - a Poundshop Trump enabling and pretty much encouraging all manner of sleaze and corruption and cronyism so long as it keeps him in the top job.

They've long since lost interest in running the country, it's just the last desperate throes of asset stripping now.

This missive to the prime minister is some state-of-the-art minimising. “I’ve embarrassed myself and other people” is surely the most twee possible way of saying: “I am alleged to have sexually assaulted two people.” It’s the Live, Laugh, Love of predatory behaviour.

The longer they take to sack him the more damage done. Good. He'll end up resigning like tractor shagger.

Johnson says he 'considers the matter closed'

Sunday papers are going to be funny

Of course theres the very real possibility that it will get bumped off for another news story - because you can be the next Johnson scandal is just waiting to explode

He’ll end up resigning

This is the one thing that will definitely not happen.

Well - certainly not in the sense of a resignation that is anything short of that type of 'resignation' that occurs approximately an hour before he would be sacked anyway.

It isn't about politics for him, it is about him and his monstrous ego.

Mariana Hyde's piece is excellent. I am sad that not more papers are allowing people to write similar articles.

Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting bozo will resign. I was referring to Mr boozy gropey. Not that I know anything about him. It just has the feel of a story that will grow until the pressure from all sides is too much. I'm probably wrong, but just a guess.

Oh he's already resigned.
Now Boris considers the matter closed and won't answer any questions about why he put a known sex pest into the office of the Chief Whip - the person you go to when you have concerns about - oh I dunno - sex pest behaviour from your fellow MPs.

In much the same way as the police officer who murdered Sarah Everard was known "colloquially" and "as bantz" in the Met as "The Rapist", Chris Pincher's nickname was Arse - as in Arse Pincher. Well known, but presumably all just a bit of a laugh.

Given that the Tory Hierarchy know that they would likely lose even the safest seat in the country in a resulting by-election right now, Tory MPs know that they could appear on Live TV feeding newborn babies into woodchipping machine while being noshed off by a schoolboy and they still wouldn't face any disciplinary sanction from number 10

Not as MP. And he still has the Tory whip. He'll be hoping to be back on the inside in the top team (again) as soon as people have "moved on"... and he's still one of our voting representatives in parliament in the meantime. He's given up very little short term, and nothing long term. For now...

Indeed.
This is the second time he has resigned from the whips office after allegations of sexual misconduct.
Last time round when he rejoined after a couple of months he got a promotion to deputy chief whip from just a assistant whip.

I agree with the Porn Man. The Blow-Job Man should remove the whip from the Groping Man.

👏🏼

Not sure about the snappy term "Blow-Job Man" though... I'm not concerned about his consensual in private down time pleasures... what I am concerned about is the pattern, going back to his days as London Mayor, though his days at the FO, and still happening while he is PM... of trying to divert public money towards the women that, er, please him. He's not fit for public office, of any kind, because of that.

He’s not fit for public office, of any kind, because of that.

And several other reasons, of course.
