Quite a boring question, but here goes...
I've just bought a new (refurbished) PC, with a fresh install of Windows 7.
This computer will never be connected to the internet, and will be used to run music production software, which is 4 years old.
My question is: Should I update the Windows 7 installation? Obviously by downloading the updates with my internet enabled laptop? Have there even been any important updates?
I'm new to W7, having been on XP.
Thanks.
No need since you are not getting connected to internet.
If you do then it will update to W7 SP1 ...
Cool, thanks.
So there's no stability/bug fixes or anything in SP1?

As usual the patch is for security & bug fixes but I did not experience any stability issues so not sure what was or was not fixed.
🙂
p/s: However Window Media Player can be an arse ...
Hmm, I don't think I'll bother then. Thanks 🙂
Yeah, WMP sucks balls. I've always used VLC. Gets the job done. Simples.
Check if the software you intend running requires W7 to be updated in any way and take it from there.
Muso's tend to shout loudly about their problems! 🙂
