5 years ago he was just normal.

But now - Oh Wow! Have I missed something here? Is this the trendy new way to display your books or has the poor bloke had to sell the family heirlooms?

Would you?

And yes - this image was shamelessly stolen from Mumsnet 😀

We noticed that as well. My first, fleeting thought was that it was a load of model railway wagons. It's obviously not but it's just as weird.

There has been extensive discussion of how to order bookshelves on the last two episodes of the Rest is Entertainment podcast

Where is he in that second image though? The first one is presumably at home but the second one doesn't look like a domestic interior - Looks like a still from a zoom call on a laptop so could be anywhere.

He seems to side with Osmand in the first pic.

It looks like the literary version of a coconut shy. Only the books in the middle of the top shelf left to knock over to win a goldfish

Dumber than drinks in jam jars, and that’s pretty dumb.

Hate to disagree with you @bentandbroken - he has never been normal, like ever.

Presumably that's his collection of dodgy dossiers

@aide I was merely referring to the bookcase element, although maybe its a background stunt by the film crew implying a posher version of one sandwich short of a picnic….

I arrange my books by size. I own quite a lot (my employer gives me a budget to buy them for professional development and if I don't spend the money, they might take it away so I have to spend it or lose it, but I don't have time to sit around reading them). I gave up pretending to read them years ago so it's much more convenient to just arrange them by size.

They don't call them 'volumes' for nothing.
