hi,

any recommendations from the STW good lifers about a book on self sufficiency. Its going to be a pressie for my brother so does not need to be a nuts and bolts 'how to wire the resistors on the solar cells' guide, but more a nice looking inspirational one. Ideally it should be not too dry and nice pics.

John Seymour wrote the book that inspired The Good Life. I've got the concise version and it's very good - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Concise-Guide-Self-Sufficiency-John-Seymour/dp/1405320206/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpi_3

This seems to be the new version: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Self-sufficiency-Manual-John-Seymour/dp/1405345101/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1292272804&sr=1-1
