Morning all...

My old man has asked for a pair of the above for Christmas. On/over ear, not earbuds. I can run to between £30 & £50.

Recommendations please? Luddite that I am, I'm very happy with wires, so know nothing about the subject!

Cheers,

Jon

I’ve just bought a set of Sony MDR ZX220BT

Bluetooth, remote control of the phone, can use for phone calls. Bloody brilliant sound for the cash.

Very happy with them, paid £30 I don’t think the old man will be disappointed.

Is he just listening to audio, or watching video/tv with them? If the latter, you want some that support Aptx Low Latency to ensure speech is in sync with the screen.

I got some of these purely for TV watching duties. Seem fine for the price.

Despite the description, they're over-ear.

You might be able to find some AKG YT50BTs for 50 on offer. They got a 5 out off 5 in what hi fi. I have had them for a year or so and are excellent. They also support hi end bluetooth connectivity I cant remember its name exactly.

I couldn't find the Y50BT any cheaper than £110 (Richer Sounds IIRC)

Thanks to a thread on here I picked up the C50BT from Argos, same headphones just different branding apparently. They're £90 now but I got them for £70 'Black Friday' deal, shame you can't wait 'til after Christmas as maybe they'll drop again?
