Yup. I enjoy the writing side, been going for about 14 months now. Doubt I have many (any) readers, but it does import into Facebook where I know people read it. Most recent post is a bit heavy though (to the extent that I've thought long and hard about posting this).

just started one myself, still in planning stages really, what's the deal with the 'get paid' for having adverts on the page?

It helped writing about it too. I can understand the fatcyclist a little better now, how his blog must help him.

No idea about the adverts - unless you get really popular I doubt you'll get anything.

What are you going to write about?

Sorry to hear about your Dad - dealing with things like that over an extended period is incredibly difficult (in my experience). It's important to allow yourself time out - a sponsored ride is a great thing to do.

Good luck with your ride.

I'm a bit reluctant to post now as things have gone a bit heavy but anyway.

http://www.samuri.co.uk

It's incredibly dull for the most part and serves mainly as a platform for me to record the times I've been out on my bike but very occasionally I like to think I provide a snippet of humour or insight. I used to get drunk every friday night and create some rather spiffing rants liberally scattered with clever swear words about a variety of subjects but since my company made us start to do implementation changes at the weekends (on Friday and Saturday night), I can't remember the last time I had enough to drink to start getting cross about something.

Started this as a way to record people's bikes being nicked, of which there are not exactly a shortage in Bristol.

http://www.stolenbristolbikes.com/

It seems to be generating a steady trickle of reports from unfortunate theft victims, and I'm amazed at how easy it was to set up and post to. It's also very visible to Google searches, which suits its purpose nicely.

beej - the riding helps - its always got me through my dark times, especially when close family have been seriously/terminally ill. The writing must help as well - not something I have ever done myself though (but perhaps I should??)

Anyway, my recently started one is here:

I have discovered that whilst I am great at writing technical medical documents, I suck at other stuff...
