my trusty vango camping gas lamp packed up on hols. I stripped it down and found the tiny first jet between the cylinder and the body of the lamp was blocked. I soaked in meths, as it is what I had available, and gave it a brush with a nylon washing up brush and the lamp worked for a very short period and then blocked again.
Any ideas what would clean the jet? I think it is too small to poke with something including a single nylon bristle.
thanks
A combination of Brake Cleaner and compressed air and repeated goes in an ultrasonic cleaning tank is what I use for unblocking motorbike carburettor jets.
Sometimes they are too far gone and corroded though, the a replacement is the solution, usually only a few quid.
You need a gas jet pricker, it is a super fine 'needle' that will poke in the jet and dislodge the blockage. You might get some in an outdoor shop or hardware store, or online obvs. Worth having to keep in your spares kit
yes, gas pricker thing, pretty sure I've just fashioned something in the past out of fuse wire or a pin or a strand from gear cable or something

Fuse wire. I keep some wrapped around the inlet pipe so it is always to hand.
