I'm in Rock Mode now!
First up - "Heaven & Hell" by Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on vocals from 4 min 26 seconds onwards!
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Welcome To The Jungle
Have you tried Jimi Hendrix's Valleys of Neptune? Some very good new (to me) solos on there.
Floods by Pantera
Led Zep too many to mention one off Led Zep 2 I suppose
I've always been a huge Knopfler fan and Telegraph Road is one of my favourite pieces of music (live version's best).
Not very 'rocky', but the guitar solo a couple of minutes in, and again the outro need to be played LOUD...
A... May... Ziiiinnnnngggggggg!
Steve Vai - Bad Horsie.
Nothing has the power to make me turn that dial clockwise like that tune.
Anything by BTO.
THREAD CLOSED.
The last 4 minutes of 'Youth Youth Youth' from the debut Generation X album.
End of thread. 🙂

Only Ones
Come as you are - Nirvana
queens of the stone age - no one knows
some arctic monkeys stuff, brianstorm for example
jimi hendrix - all along the watchtower
Controlled feedback guitar solo at the end of We will rock you by Queen.
Little Fury Things - Dinosar Jr
Gary Moores cover of [url=
on My Mind- can never decide whether it's inspired or self indulgent claptrap.
Oh my! This will take some pontificating. 🙄
Off the top of my head I couldn't say but there's certainly a few contenders including the brilliant Joe Bonamassa who I shall see on Sunday. 8)
Stones - Sympathy for the Devil. The best guitar sound ever.
White Stripes - Black Math (2nd song on Elephant album)
The start of Thunderstruck AC/DC
+1 for Thunderstruck 8) Looking forward to Download and seeing Acca Dacca live for the first time (even if they're getting a little geriatric now 😆 !)
Guns'n'Roses - Sweet Child of Mine... must be cranked to 11 whenever I hear it!
White Stripes - Black Math (2nd song on Elephant album)
Good shout
Old skool: Metallica, For Whom the Bell Tolls
New Stuff: Muse: Knights of Cydonia
What about Come Up and See Me (Make Me Smile) by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel...
Legend has it that the guitarist who did that solo was so out of his head when he recorded it, he took ages to "learn" it afterwards when he had to play it live.
Frank Marino - World Anthem (live version)
Gimme Shelter - Stones
Down by the River - Neil Young
Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden can only be played loud.
And this guy's version is pretty cool. Check out his other videos's and weep with jealousy if (like me) you have any illusions that you can play guitar.
Paul Gilbert (Mr Big and RacerX). Used to play solos with cordless drill etc. But for ridiculous guitar solo, try:
from about 3:20 in - excellent despite crap sound quality - includes playing using his teeth...
'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love - Van Halen
Song 2 - Blur
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
I've always been a huge Knopfler fan and Telegraph Road is one of my favourite pieces of music (live version's best).
Actually I prefer the outro on the album version. I really like the way the focus shifts between the various instruments, rather than just being focused on the guitar. The live version of Sultans of Swing is very nice though.
The solo in the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Can't Stop may only be 7 notes long but it is very good indeed.
Others I really like include Hysteria by Muse, Long Snake Moan by PJ Harvey, Someday I Will Treat You Good by Sparklehorse and Lakini's Juice by Live.
Jane's Addiction - Three Days
[url=
Having a bit of a rock revival myself - and booked in for download for the first time in 17 years - might be more of a mid life crisis than a rock revival.
Anyway - zack wildes Black label society - All for you has a pretty good mix of gut busting riff and blistering solo.
That and the chickenfoot album
boght the new remaster of heaven and hell too - it's good but the recording level is a bit quiet, so on the mp3 player it's a struggle to get loud enough - RIP RJD
Resurection by Stone Roses
Whole lot of Rosie by AC/DC
3 Days by Janes Addiction....actally all of there stuff.
And some one had to say it but Free Bird by Lynard Skynard...
"Treat me like your Mother" The dead Weather.

Crying in the Rain - Whitesnake
I am the Resurrection by the Roses
Most of the Second Coming. People say it was John Squire trying to do Led Zep. And the problem with that is what exactly.....?
Loads of later Primal Scream stuff
Pretty much my entire music collection. RAWK!! \m/
Massive Attack - Angel!
everything by Derek Trucks
Rest in Peace Ronnie.

Aint Talkin' about love-Halen

Every track on "L" from Steve Hillage. Thats for when I feel a bit of a hippy and want rattle my beads. Now when I have washed the sheets back to white, put on my pointy hat and put as match to the cross it can only be Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Jambi by Tool. Sounds like the Martians are invading.
Cream - crossroads. the live version.i dont remember where from, but its the one where clapton apologies at the end because he "wobbled" apparently.i struggled to here a wobble in what is probably one the most amazing solo's ever played 😯

Can't believe Ace of Spades has only had one mention. 🙄 It's THE guitar song for playing at full whack!
Ace of Spades sounds loud even when it's not.
Spirit of Radio - Rush.
Although I get carried away with the air drumming. 😳
The whole of Who The West Was Won - except Moby Dick of course.
Rush opened with the intro to "Spirit of Radio" at the Wembly arena a few years ago. A perfect choice - see them fingers move!
This is a great thread:
Mr Crowley, Ozzy (the Randy Rhoads live tribute album version is sublime)
Walking By Myself, Gary Moore (a kick-ass R&R track)
The mighty Tim Pierce - anything
How could I have forgotten Baba O'Reilly by The Who?
+1 [url=
The Stooges - [url=
EyeLoose - these are probably my faves, everything else sounds weak afterwards. Love the live footage from 1970... "This is ****ing blood!"
Brain Donor - Pagan Dawn
Slayer - Reign in Blood, Angels of Death
Both of which were played at No12 never mind 11 last night.
Got a mate coming to see them on Saturday and his only knowledge of them is that track of Guitar Hero..... his ears are in for a baptism of fire.
LOL , too right , my ears are still whistling 😈
stripsearch-faith no more.
i love the short guitar solo in the middle.
Young Man blues by the Who?
Overkill by Motorhead (tops bomber for guitar work IMO -
)
Waterfall by the Stone Roses
Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits
California Sun by the Ramones
However, I offer you the entirety of the White Stripes cover of Death Letter -
Only because I haven't listened to it for ages and this thread made me think of it:
Unbeliever - Therapy? (Try it, with your volume up, from the start!).
And owt by QOTSA, Muse, etc.
Good riding music and no mistake!
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica.
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica.
Whisky in the Jar - Metallica.
Roots - Sepultura.
One - Metallica.
[url=
this to lighten the mood up a bit
[url=
Youth - Sugar Kane
Most of Neil Young's Crazy Horse stuff. I love that simple but very loud and overdriven stuff.
I also have to turn up the volume every time for the bit at the end of The Beatles Abbey Road, the bit the Beastie Boys sampled.
Richie Blackmore's solo midway through Highway Star on the original 'Made In Japan' album.
Some good ones here; +1 QOTSA No One Knows, Apollo 440 Ain't Talkin' About Dub, to which I'd add Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers American Girl, and Nils Lofgren Night Fades Away.
LOVE those two songs, especially Night Fades Away, Lofgren gets those amazing second harmonics which whistle on certain notes, never fails to have me wacking the volume right up and singing 'til my voice cracks. On my own, of course.
Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin
GnR - Sweet Child
The Darkness - Is it just me?
Rush - Witch Hunt (In fact, pretty much any Rush!)
ZZ Top - La Grange
Oh man, I could go on about this all night....!
