Thinking of planning a bivi adventure in Europe - sans bikes. Requirements are:

- Mountains or fairly remote
- Near ish to an airport with public transport there
- Not likely to get shot for wandering around in the middle of nowhere (i.e. we'll be bivying discretely) - maybe a national park?
- Not too expensive to get there (i.e. has a budget airline that flies there)
- Ideally something suitable for a circular hike over 3 days or so

That's about it - there's almost two many options, so I thought i'd ask on here... probably going in May ish.

Any ideas or have I been too vauge!

Was thinking of budget airline from Bristol myself.
Walk out from airport thats in some mountainous area.
Bivi.
Walk back to airport.
Fly home.

I'd be interested in other folks recommendations.

I always fancied a nose round the East end of the Alps - Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary etc. Been chatting to a Czech couple the last two days as well, and that sounds like a fab place 🙂

Flight to Malaga

Train [from right inside the airport] to Benalmadena €2.40

Cable car into the hills ~€15

Reverse to get home

Sweden? Skavsta with Ryanair, and a lake is walking distance...We also got a bus to Linkoping - it passed all sorts of lakes / forests / places on the way.
See, where I stayed was ace.

La Creuse.

Fits the bill perfectly.

- Mountains or fairly remote = no ****er there to save your ass!!!
- Near ish to an airport with public transport there = Yep Limogesa
- Not likely to get shot for wandering around in the middle of nowhere (i.e. we'll be bivying discretely) - maybe a national park? - NBGAF
- Not too expensive to get there (i.e. has a budget airline that flies there) = Cheap as Chips
- Ideally something suitable for a circular hike over 3 days or so
= Yep, you can walk around in circles for months without ever covering the same ground.

Some great ideas in here - so so tempting just to catch the next flight!
I've never flown to Malaga, but I'm guessing it's as cheap as they come 🙂

Great thread Ewan!
