a bird with radioactive crap pebble dashed my bonnet. The crusty bits have been removed but it has left a stain that is visible and wont polish out, even with tcut - any suggestions?
Ignore it or respray.
Also fix some kind of scarecrow to your bonnet.
Don't do as my wife did and use a kitchen scouring pad to remove the bird poop!
Wash them off as soon as possible.
What car is it. Some manufacturers paint seems 'softer' than others.
subaru outback- gunmetal grey
If you have used the correct T-cut and it is still visible it is probably either respray or ignore. May be worthwhile finding a local paintshop to take a look at it.
Would avoid Dealership as although the service at Subaru is meant to be good I'm sure it would be pricey unless it's still under warranty in which case you could argue re defect. #
Try having it polished to help prevent issues like this in future.
Get some On-One decals and make it a theme.
If it's only burnt in to the lacquer, try some wet and dry - very fine though and remove some of the top clear coat. Be careful not to go through to the colour, then t-cut and wax it. Car polish will wash off soon enough, so use some decent wax for the top layer as you won't have much lacquer left to protect the paint.
I used some of THIS STUFF as my car gets strafed regularly at work. Seems to have done a good job on the scratches as well.
Bonus is, I got a deal on the silicon based polish and cloths as well (still not cheap) and all the bird poop and road muck seems to just wash off at the sight of rain. Haven't had to wash the car for a couple of months 😀
Get some of those cool bullet hole stickers.
Then go cruisin'
If Bilt Hamber Auto-clay does not help, then the paint is too far gone.
But SMART small area paint repair style painting can be done to a high standard.
take a look on a detailing forum. Might be some advice on there.
