a few days ago - on a [s]night[/s] evening ride.

conditions were peachy, i stopped to take it all in.

and heard a bird call, that sounded really weird.

sort of like a bittern saying 'kik-ooop'

(the k's and the p's were enunciated, but the 'oop' part had a bitterny boom to it)

location: wooded valley, next to sheffield.

pteradactyl?

predator?

(not a bird?)

Thanks for the link to that call ID app, it's often difficult to ID a bird from its call if you can't see the damned bird! You have to have some starting point.
