Nice one. A mate of mine had a tuned RG500 on the road. It was insane!

Those forks look a bit light weight now don't they. Bigger ones on most MTB these days.

Nice one. A mate of mine had a tuned RG500 on the road. It was insane!

Amusingly, the original Heron Suzuki RG500 press bike was apparently ported and tweaked before being released, so it was somewhat faster than the stock bikes at the dealers. I have vague memories of it having an odd double power band as a result. I was a magazine bike journo / tester at the time and knew Roger, who ran their workshop. A really good guy, but quite, erm, cheeky.
