One quick email to explain what had *happened and if it would be covered under warranty and explained they were 20 months old. Got sent a FOC returns label from Bikediscount.de. Sent off shoes week last Thursday and today I received and new pair in the post. No quibbles. Happy days ๐
Tbh, I wasn't expecting them to be replaced, but thought why not ask anyway, its worth an email and plenty of folk warranty all sorts of stuff, right?
*sole had split under the toe where the cleat plate ends

i found the same with rose bikes, i had a rear mech hanger snap, resulting in the mech ripping out a nipple spoke through a mavic crossride rim.
i had to send the wheel back but they replaced it pretty quickly.
not sure our uk companies would have been quite so good
Bike discount.de replaced a cracked shimano freehub for me - just had to send them a photo from what I remember
Mavic warranty is pretty good - 2 years on everything?
LBS actually handled it for me even when I didn't get the wheels from them - all they needed was a proof of purchase, which was nice.
They were too quick for me.
Sent something back that was defective on delivery (very obviously so).
My account was credited with a full refund within one hour of myhermes delivery tracker showing it was delivered.
I was at least expecting them to contact me after the returns dept. did their inspection to ask if I wanted an exchange or refund.
