Bike in a Cupra Formentor?

Anyone manage to carry a bike in the back of a Cupra Formentor?  Presume its a case off rear seats down and front wheel off?

I'd be carrying a medium gravel bike or 29er Hardtail.  Roof rack an option but wondering if carrying inside is doable.

Cheers

In our smaller hatchback I can get a bike in without taking the wheel off by dropping it between the folded seat and the back of the front seat with the rest of the bike lying on it's side in the boot/folded seat.

This method doesn't account for dirty bikes mind, but they just travel on the van.

I suspect it is very similar in size to my Ateca. I can get my Sonder Camino in without the wheel off as described above....wheel down in front of folded rear seats/behind front seats. If it was muddy, i'd be taking the wheel off. It would obviously not be a problem fitting it in then either.

I have the smaller Born and get bikes in the back with the seats down no bother, so assume it’s easier in the Formentor

Thanks all. Had an Ateca previously and bike went in fine. Have a Leon ST currently which takes the bike no problem, but Formentor boot looks quite a bit smaller. PCP coming to an end and split between going for the (Cupra) Leon ST again or Formentor for a bit of a change...

I've had two Ebikes in the back of my Formentor.

I have a peice of plywood that fits the floor area. Cut in half so it's easier to fit. Take the front wheel off and slide the bike along the plywood.

For two bikes, it's wheels and pedals off with a peice of plywood between the bikes.

If it's covered in mud, then a big plastic bag from a mattress is used to fit the bike into it .

I've ruined too many nice cars with muddy bikes despite trying to be really careful, roofbars for the win.

Or just own mediocre cars and spend the difference on nice bikes and/or cake.

Is it not the same platform as a Karok? Should be able to take 2 bikes with wheels off and rear seats folded no problem.

An alternative might be one of the big grey blankets that removals companies use to protect furniture, those things are huge, and you can drape them all over the upholstery in the back of the car, put the bike in then lay another over the top if necessary. Unlike plastic bags they won’t rip; they’re made from recycled material like wool, then overstitched repeatedly so they’re very durable. I’ve got a couple I used in the back of my old Octavia, I’d drop the back seats down, lay a blanket across the whole of the back of the car, drop the seatpost down, then I could get the whole bike in easily. With a second blanket over that, a second bike could lay on top, with a bit of juggling. You could also use the blankets for extra warmth over/under a sleeping bag as well.

I've not managed to ruin any car interiors but either way, roof mount is definitely the way forward. The suction ones are perfect, plus you only need to buy once:
