I’m after a new sleeping bag…
£250ish max, small pack size (approx 30 x15cms would be ideal) and comfy down to 0c.
Mountain Equipment Helium 400?
Cumulus ultralight 200?

Anything else I should be looking at or experiences of the above?

The easy answer to this is Alpkit

Cumulus bags are great and pack tiny, but I normally need a liner with them at the advertised temps. Perhaps I just run cold...

No problem as I’m a sweaty boil-in-the-bag kind of guy 🙂

Interested in this. I'm always cold, but having watched a lot of vids recently, getting quilt curious.

How tall are you.

The alpkit pipedream 400 is the obvious choice and that comes in an XL.

The cumulus was too short for me.

I ended up going with a more pricey sea to summit sp3, but very pleased with it.

Alpkit Pipedream 400 has done me for many years. Being soft, I have seldom if ever used it below zero, but it's certainly fine for temperatures in the low single figures.

Another Pipedream 400 XL user here. Pretty happy with it in terms of pack size and weight, feels nice and is warm above freezing. However, below freezing it can feel a bit chilly and lacking in stuffing, so I use a silk liner.

I'm sure I read the XL doesn't have any more down filling than the standard one, therefore it's spread thinner throughout the bag.

My gf has a Mountain Equipment Helium 400. It performs much better below freezing and is comparable in all other areas, a little less expensive when on offer too.

Helium is good if a little snug. I have an xl version for extra length. Also have a xl ME grid liner for it to increase warmth when needed

Gosh, what a big URL

See the question mark in the url? You can delete that and everything after it.

I’m 6’ 2’’ which seems to make me just into xl territory for a lot of brands. I may hit the Alpkit store in Edinburgh next time I’m in the city and ask to wriggle around in a few 🤔
