Evening all,

For all those of you with offices in the shed what WiFi extenders do you use. I have power in the shed and the shed is about 50ft from the hub.

Things I can get on Amazon prime ideal as I need it tomorrow!

Budget? Fair few threads about this lately if you search. Power line adapters probably easiest, physical cable best but most hassle. Also various wireless systems.

Don’t really want to spend more than about £50 if I can help it

Run a cable - everything else is ultimately flaky. BT/Google Mesh is most reliable, but even that can be unreliable, and you are never sure whether its a wifi issue or a router issue.

I've never had much luck with power line adapters, they don't like extensions and they can be slow.

It's really not that hard to get cable and a crimping tool and some ends from amazon. If you are a bit fingers and thumbs, then also a test tool, because it can be slightly tricky getting the coloured cables in the right order - plenty of you tube vids show you how.

You might find a friend has already got what you need..

I’m getting about 60-70mbps using a power cable pass through. Probably 30m of cable to the shed. 110mbps internet at the router in the house.

I occasionally get a very slight network drop (10 seconds) on Zwift which I can’t say what causes it, could be this I don’t know.

Running a physical cable would be best, but if I tied it in with the power cable would I get interference.

When was this.

Mines(tp link bought start of lockdown) happy running across two different circuits in the house and through two different surge protectors at each end and still returns +/-1 meg of the router speed with no flakeyness

Video conferencing and sharing screens pretty much all day long as well as zwifting with it

I tried it out prior to running a cable but decided I didn't need to it was so effective.

I'd had earlier generations of this technology before and they are terrible I'd agree but the latest itteration seems to have been stress tested properly

Can you send a link trail rat? Does the version you used also have a WiFi signal?

Is the one I bought . May not have been the best but at the time these were super thin on the ground. You bought what you could get hold of and it was a 10 minute fit instead of hours drilling holes and digging trenches

Whatever you do, don’t buy the entry level Netgear Orbi RBK13 mesh system.. after a good solid stint of service mine has become flaky as * and I’m currently 5 hours in to trying to fix the little *. Sat down at 2pm to work and I’m still here now trying to sort it. I’m giving it until 9pm then I’m going to set about it with a hammer. FFS
