Travelling from belper in Derbyshire to a place 12 miles south east of Chester. Don't fancy going through Stoke or anywhere near the m6. Any thoughts?

You need to face up to the fact that you're either going through Stoke, or you're going massively out of your way.

There are no end of beautiful routes you could take through the Peak District that - as the crow flies - are probably shorter than going through Stoke. Look on a map and take your pick.

You need to face up to the fact that you're either going through Stoke, or you're going massively out of your way.

Nonsense.

Can't remember the road numbers, but Belper -> Ashbourne -> Leek -> Congleton -> wherever you need to be.

Not necessarily quick but bloody lovely.

Just looked, it's actually winsford I'm going to which is east of Chester. So its Ashbourne leek congleton I reckon. Beautiful Peak District here we come, for a bit anyway.

leek

you'll never make it through alive, you'll be burned in a wicker man for driving a horseless carriage powered by devils, by the 6 fingered, web footed inbred freaks in the hills.

Ashbourne -> Leek -> Congleton

Sounds like what I used to do when I lived near Chester and my Gran was in Ashbourne.

So you're not actually going anywhere vaguely near Chester then? :p

^I'll have you know Leek is getting quite the cosmopolitan place. We even have a Premier Inn now! We only let the in-breds out on a Friday and Saturday night
