I have a couple of small (about 1-2mm dia) stone chip rust spots on my van, what is the best rust treatment to use before touching in with paint?

Have you tried AUTOSOL? Seems to get rid of rust quite good.

Kurust (or similar name) turns the rust into a hard black permanent stable compound. It's a milky liquid, work it into the rust with a 1/4" paint brush. Fab stuff!
