MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
just inherited one from my now deceased (and truly awful) Aunt.
It's a 1901 in good condition.
Seems to be worth about £170 (which happens to be the amount outstanding on the Pipedream frame I have just ordered).
Don't really want to use Ebay (but could).
Any ideas?
Why not just keep it?
Better than money in the bank - investment wise.

Gold prices are at an all time high. Only a good investment to keep hold of it if you think prices are going to rise even further. They will inevitably fall.
According to a mate who's a goldsmith, the value of the gold exceeds the value of the coin to collectors at the mo'. Personally, I'd hang on to a coin of that age; it can never be replaced if it gets melted down for the gold. I have a 1913 sov, which stays with me, as it was handed down from my granddad and my late dad.
I don't really want a memento of someone I didn't like and would rather the money was 'invested' in something I can enjoy.
ie a new frame.
i will give you a ton for it..
generally sovereigns need to be in mint condition to be worth much more than the gold value, that means no dulling/flattening at all on the raised areas, no scratches. Try Lloyd Bennett at Symonds Yat, is a decent guy, he used to travel to a few markets.
Personally I'd stick it on a ring, wear a gold chain and a tracksuit and pretend to be a well-loved Welsh rap act..
MINT! (in a Mark Radcliffe style...) and no its not.
Ton - thanks for the offer but I'm married...
Guns dont kill people, Rappers do.
just think, her spirit might transfer into your frame if you use the money for that 😯
