If you're looking at merino bike-specific gear, have a look at Smartwool as well, out later this summer, they have a short with a merino wool pad, actually a top end multi-density foam one, but with a merino surface.

I've only used the Smartwool shorts, mix of merino/nylon/elastane, which is nice but feels quite thick, maybe a tad warm for hot weather. A mate who's used the Icebreaker ones said they have a similarly thick and slightly warm feel to them, though obviously that's just secondhand info.

Even with the merino pad, I wouldn't/don't use them more than once without washing.
