My subscription to OS Maps expires soon. Should I renew it? Or is there a better way to access OS maps on iOS?

What do you do with it?

They do half price offers so might be worth finding one as it will save some cash and you still keep access to your saved routes. I don't think you lose those, just can't access them on the free account.

I've used Memory Map for years. The software is free to download and they sell perpetual licenses. Currently 1:50000 for the whole UK is £35 and 1:25000 is £150.

I'm not a fan of their Memory Map for All application (supported on iOS, Android, Mac, Linux and Windows). But they still have their legacy software available (not sure if it runs on latest Android. But I have it running on Linux with Wine and GrapheneOS on my phone).

You will be able to import all you gpx files for your saved OS Maps routes.

I use Hiiker.

In addition to OS, gives access to Harvey Maps and historical maps.

OS maps for me. There's usually a cut price deal hovering about that can extend your current subscription. Isn't there a STW members discount code?

I have tried them all and settled on Outdoor Active (which was previously Viewranger) as it has the best app and web site.

I have Memory Map 1.25000 on four devices, three IOS and one Android (but an older, backup, phone)easy to install and use. It was a birthday present which I use most days, not just for organising routes so definitely one of the most useful gifts that I have had in recent years.

Also using Hiiker here, £15 for the year if you look them up on Facebook... Lots of nice features and features being added on a regular basis too. Great how you can plan on app or PC and it all just syncs seamlessly in the background.

Not sure if this link will work for all or not? This is grabbed from FB.

+1 for Memory Map, by a country mile the best mapping app I've used. The OS licence is a bit more expensive than other apps, but worth it. They usually have a sale around Christmas/New Year which might save you a few quid, if you're prepared to wait a little while. Check their Facebook page (if you scroll back you can see when it's been in previous years).

Happy with the OS app. No problem in paying the company doing the actual work. It’s got better. Very easy to get a route to Garmin. Off line down load is good

The cheapest is back country navigator. You can cash the whole uk for free once you’ve bought the App. Android only

The OS Maps app is still the one for me. I generally just buy a month or two of premium when I needed but as others have said, there's often offers that can give you a full year for a decent price.
I mainly use it for areas where I have already previously bought the paper map, then you can redeem the digital download/offline version in the app using the code on the paper map, without a subscription.

OS maps here. just so easy to use.

and after using OS maps for 50 years, just so used to plotting a route and also reading maps when out and about.

plot route at home where i want to go and then save and use on my phone to follow route.

Be a bit careful with that if you also have a subscription. If you have a downloaded area, the app will use that in preference to the more up-to-date version it might find online.

Yes, there is. It's 50% off and you can apply the code multiple times. I think I bought three years of subscription at the discounted price
