Don't think we've had a best of the year yet! So anything music, tv, video, book, gig, sporting event.. only rule is it had to be

    NEW IN 2019.

Mine:

Film- Joker. Easy choice

TV series- so many great ones, End of the F-ing World (series 2); Get Shorty (series 3); Watchmen, Killing Eve, Euphoria.. But I'll go for The Boys.

Album- very difficult, mostly because I only listen to things once and move on, trying to find the new and exciting. It's a pain. But the one album I listened to the most was
"Complicate Your Life With Violence" by L'Orange & Jeremiah Jae.

Gig- 3 main contenders Milo, Working Men's Club and Tropical **** Storm - TFS just win it as it was the most memorable, even though I ended up going on my own! They had the best support too.

Sport- England v New Zealand, rugby world cup semi-final.

As a good-looking rebel who lives by his own rules I can't give a single answer for most of it. Some of it actually came out this year, some of it came out years, even decades ago and I only found it this year.

Film: 1 Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2 The Irishman 3 Rise of Skywalker
TV series. 1) Haunting of Hill House 2 Derry Girls 3) Mindhunter 4) The Deuce final series.
Music. The Ramones.
Sport. WC Downhill Series and Rugby WC

Film: Parasite, Le Mans '66

Not quite as good as expected but still decent: Joker, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Endgame, The Irishman (need another viewing)

To watch and to play for: Little Women, Marriage Story

Worst by a country mile: Rise of Skywalker

TV: Unbelievable

Music: The New Pornographers - In the Morse Code of Break Lights, W.H Lung - Incidental Music

Live: Ride, OMD, W.H Lung were all great.

Film - another vote for Joker.
TV - Chernobyl and Giri Haji
Sport - World Cup final and Headingley test in the cricket. Rugby World Cup semi was amazing although the final rather took the gloss off it.

Best day: Saturday, sometimes Thursday, cos I have Thursday off with my 3yr old.
Best season: Summer. Was good this year. I did a shit load of cycling including up 2 actual mountains in Wales.
Best Bike: my new to me Cotic Rocket. After years of being a HT till I die guy I came upon a great deal for a rocket and absolutely love it. My riding has improved no end.
Best musical artist: Technimatic. Liquid drum n Bass duo released a new album in April and it's awesome.
Best fb group: the Midlands mtb group is really friendly and I've been on 2 social rides with them after years of avoiding group rides, and had a good time.

Albums:..Choose from.."Future Dust".The Amazons, "The Balance", Catfish & The Bottlemen, Sam Fender,"Hypersonic Missiles"( even though he left the best track off the album), Demob Happy "Holy Doom"...and currently Sturgill Simpson " Sound & Fury "
Gig: The Amazons ..Newcastle O2..also best time as I was there on an ovenighter with my 16 year old son..
Film..dont have one ( although I was bored silly with the Joker )..
TV : Game of Thrones final season & Killing Eve..
Biggest regret..working too hard & spending very little time on my mountain bike ..which will change next year when reverting back to a 4 day working week..

Rosalia... She is fantastic

Oh yeah. I'd have put down El Mal Querer as my album of the year if it hadn't been realeased in 2018...

However my actual album of the year would have to be Nulifer Yanya's Miss Universe (Kim Gordon's No Home Record a close second).

Film, that's easy: Dolor y Gloria (and not just because it features la Reina...). A real return to form of Almodovar

My best moment on the bike was the descent into Fort Augustus on the GGW which just flowed for me, i felt truly connected to the bike.

Best bivvy was the summer solstice, such beautiful skies

TV - The Boys
Film - Once Upon A Time in Hollywood*
Book - Epic Bike Rides of the Americas

* I only ever see new films in planes so am not the best arbiter of cinematic excellence.
