[Closed] Best Oakley dealer in Glasgow (or Central Belt)?

Just learned that I should be wearing glasses (or goggles) all the time when out riding keep UV out of a slightly gammy eye. I've played about with Bolle safety glasses and the like, but they really don't work for me for some reason (last pair made me feel about 2ft taller - very odd).

Because of this, I'm going to go posher to see if that helps. Oakley are the obvious starting point. Does Dales still have a good selection? Does anyone know of anywhere else that's worth a try?

Cheers,

Mark

I thought about Evans, haven't been into the City Centre store yet and can't remember seeing anything in the Braehead one?

The Sunglass hut at the airport has a good selection but that is past security however i think they may also have a shop in the Buchanan Galleries.

Xscape has Evans and Ellis Brigham both have some as does the opticians in braehead across from boots.

There's a case upstairs in the city centre store I think. It might be near the stairs in the breahead one.

Thanks Gary, will have a check.

Does the Subglass Hut do the sports models? I figured they were more 'lifestyle' orientated. The optician might be a good one for mixing and matching lens' so will check them out too

If you need them prescription then check out Select Specs. Have my first pair of Oakleys on order and the selection and pricing is bang on.

Some branches of Black & Lizars stock them, not sure which branches though. I know the one in Rose St in Edinburgh has an excellent stock and a knowledgeable woman in the store if you need some advice. I got my prescription ones from the store in Gordon St in Glasgow.

Oh aye, worth pointing out that I don't need any prescription (like, at all. 20/20 vision ftw ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) I just need the UV protection and, to a lesser degree, protection from dirt/mud/dust/etc

I've not long a pair of Salice glasses (011) and they're great. A fraction of the price of Oakley (I have a few and have destroyed 2 pairs) and have great coverage. Ordered direct from Salice UK after trying at the Cycle Show.

Also, Debenhams do Oakley, have some from them and they can have some good deals on them.

City centre wise - maybe Greaves in either Buchanan Galleries (top floor I think) or on Gordon St

for those interested, skink2020s link came in very handy! Tried a few shops then went to i2i (Pret a Voirs high street stores) on Howard Street (beside Slaters).

Very helpful staff, the only people who actually seemed to understand the fit of different frames. Along with the best range I found too, highly recommended.
