MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I've got a Garmin eTrex 20 which I need to download some maps for (Scotland/Highlands really). What are the best options on the Garmin site - I'm well used to OS Maps but are Birdeye ones any use? I'd like to be able to plan routes on my PC as well but that's by no means essential.
Any free (and legit) options out there?
Talkytoaster-their free maps are OS styled and pretty accurate. You can load them onto your e.trex by following their installation guide. The only downside I have found is that the detail varies with zoom level so to get all the small roads etc. you need to zoom in quite tightly. Birdseye maps are not vey good in my opinion-they are so user- unfriendly it almost beggars belief. Same goes for their Basecamp software.
Thanks, I'll check talkytoaster out.
