Surprised nobody has mentioned the King of the remixes yet...
If you can find it (not on YouTube or anywhere else I've searched for that matter) he did a killer remix of "Not in Love" by Enrique Iglesias too!
That bass hook from Professional Widow though! 8)
Just for Edlong another version of for what it's worth
Houns - MemberWonder how many tunes above feature samples from my 4
I've got a party planned to celebrate the 50th birthday of the amen break.
It will be bangin'. 8)
Stereophonics hand Bags n glad rags - from above gets a vote from me
forgotten what I've posted in previous threads - here's a couple
the ginger one from the eighties does talking heads rather well:
Faith No More's - War Pigs cover is better than original imo
😯
I mean 😯 😯 😯
They sound like a tribute band!
Another Wedding Present cover
My wife hates it but I think it's great:
Alanis Morissette my humps

Remix. Coldcut's Eric B & Rakim, Paid in Full (7 minutes of madness mix)
Cover
Sandie Shaw - Sympathy for the Devil. Can never quite decide if it's great or awful
Best remix you say?
Can't hear that one ^^ as I'm at work, but for mixes of Primal Scream's Loaded it will be going some (imho) to touch Terry Farley's one:
and on a similar note, Andy Weatherall's mix of Come Together is pretty definitive (again, imho):
Sandie Shaw - Sympathy for the Devil. Can never quite decide if it's great or awful
It's great.
Hey Joe- Rory Gallagher
Oops I did it again - Richard Thompson
Agree on the Jennifer Warnes album, especially Joan of Arc.
Always - Leonard Cohen
Love will tear us apart - June Tabor and the Oysterband
John Wesley Harding (whole album)- Thea Gilmore
Can't hear that one ^^ as I'm at work, but for mixes of Primal Scream's Loaded it will be going some (imho) to touch Terry Farley's one
It was more the point that Loaded itself is a remix of Primal Scream's earlier song, I'm Losing More Than I Ever Had
re ^
not currently available but you might be able to get it in bits on youtube. Brilliant watch, great stories.

Come Together is a good shout.
Weatherall's work sometimes benefits from a remix also. Is it too early to get the strobe and smoke machine out?
For me
Disturbed - Sound of Silence
William Orbit - Barbers Adagio
Nightwish - Walking in the Air
Gun - Word Up
No codpiece involved
Oops I did it again - Richard Thompson
Ah yes. I saw him perform it live without giving away what it was. Hilarious, but utterly brilliant.
Disturbed - Sound of Silence
Aaaaaagh.
Crippled Black Phoenix ..and this
Was lucky enough to see the band(AC/DC ) in 1977 at the Mayfair Newcastle on a Friday night ..pay at the door ..
Even though he is a local lad ..Ive never liked Brian Johnson's vocal ..just way too strained
Cake - I will survive
The Wedding Present - Come up and see me (make me smile)
The Sundays - Wild horses
The Specials - Pressure drop
Remix ... Depeche Mode - Policy of truth sheepy baa baa mix
B ? R N ? C ? E B Ø Ï ? – ???? - ??? ??? ????g? ???
Ooh just remembered. Hounds of Love - Futureheads
Ooh just remembered. Hounds of Love - Futureheads
Damn, I'd managed to forget about that one quite successfully. That's the "marmite" cover isn't it? People either love it or hate it. That and that version of Simon & Garfunkel that always comes up on these threads. I'd be happy if I never heard either of them again. That, and the third of my trinity of "that's not very good" (imho) covers goes to a band I generally quite like, but not in this instance:
OP pretty much won the thread with
Even Better Than The Real Thing (The Perfecto Mix) - U2
I'm not a big Perfecto or U2 fan, but that track is ginormous, and also reminds me of Rimini '92, enough said?
sbob
2 things..... 1. You won't be short of tracks to play, over 2000! And 2. Can I have an invite? 😛
Florence Welch doing you got the love.
Couldn't care What the stwistas Think, I love our Florence.
Korn - Another Brick in The Wall
This is sick.
In the interests of time I'll offer a remix of a cover. Two birds, one stone, etc.

Sadly, the original video isn't available, so this is a live version, but I absolutely love Beck's cover of The Korgies Everyone's Gotta Learn Sometimes.
A bit of lushness.
Thea Gilmore does good cover:
She's not averse to taking on the challenge of recording an entire album of unfinished songs written by Sandy Denny, either:
I've got the album, I've never heard this demo mix before, and it's lovely.
Another cover of a Sandy Denny song by Thea, which is on the same album, "Don't Stop Singing", but this predates it, a live version of Georgia.
I didn't know the back-story to this song, it's about Sandy's daughter Georgia, who was taken away from Sandy because she was in such a bad place, Sandy died not long after.
Surprised by the amount of shit music suggested on this thread. I am disappointed. Some good stuff there too amongst the crap I suppose
No DJ Koze suggested yet? He has some great remixes.
The Korgies Everyone's Gotta Learn Sometimes.
I have always loved this cover:
Stipe, Merchant, Bragg doing the John Prine song to absolute perfection.

Threads are for "music stopped being made in 2000" people. Stay away 🙂

I love DJ Koze's Låpsley Operator remix
an entire album: Apocalyptica - plays Metallica, by four cellos.
it's all good, here's the nub:
i love these threads!
Couple of tasty remixes from Beck
and who would struggle to fall in love with a Happy Hardcore cover version from war of the worlds?
i'm sure dj antisocial did a version, but my google-fu is weak...
Bullion's remix from back in the long lost days of "wonky" - I prefer to the original.
Head like a hole - I'm on fire
Cash & Strummer - Redemption song.
SLF - Johnny Was.
Utah Saints - Something Good. More of a sample than a cover.
Beth Gibbons (Portishead)doing SOS.
Just remembered this one, while listening the the Beats album:
King Crimson Heroes
Ah yes, Portishead's SOS cover, I'd forgotten that one as well, good call. 😀
Sunday - 10,000 maniacs
Generally anything that Nouvelle Vague cover but this Soft Cell cover is a favourite
And on the subject of remix's I stumbled over this beauty about a year ago which is so wrong but oh so right
Mike Masse has done some brilliant covers. His Africa cover is one of the best though -
There's an interview video with Mike as well, and he's met Toto, and they said that's how the song should of been done, but they couldn't sing well enough.
I'm also liking ortoPilot's cover of '74-'75 just now-
