But I've read that the Hudl isn't that good for Skype?

Hudl2 works fine for Skype, was using it just a few hours ago

I've been using a cheap no name Android tablet at work for skype. While it works, the battery doesn't last long and the microphone and speaker quality isn't the best.

WHen paired with a headset things improve a little, but the whole experience leaves a lot to be desired; I still have not found a way to mute my mic with the button on my headset for example.

If the person is a technophobe, an iPad may be he best option, as they are the most user friendly in my experience.
