I want to donate to an animal charity but want my donation to go to the animals rather than admin/promotion/chief exec salaries etc.
Can anyone suggest any?

Unless the animals are good with computers and stuff - you'll be paying for admin, promo and salaries with all of them.

Any particular type of animal you want to support?

Find your local one, and ring them up to see what they need.

For example I know when I give to my local one, usually towels/blankets etc, it’s going exactly where it should. As I am handing it to the lady who runs it.

I find this is true with any charity. Smaller/less structured local charities have less overheads/marketing etc.

+1, "Kitchen table" charities normally have very low overheads.

I'd be wary of the Blue Cross...

and would probably give the RSPCA a miss...

We’ve got a similar question as our son (18 last week) asked us to pay money to a charity in place of giving him Christmas presents. When asked if he had anything particular in mind, he said 'something to help 'vaquitas' (I had to look them up). I’m thinking of Whale and Dolphin Conservation as they’re a UK charity, so I’m more confident about them than some of the US websites that say they’re 'saving' them specifically.

We recently bought a dehumidifier from the Amazon wish list for our local dog rescue centre.

I've not even got one of those for myself.

I can recomend these guys for the work they do and the money going straight to the animals. The charity was started after Lisa who runs the place went on holiday and came back with 28 rescued dogs.

If you want to be sure, they have an Amazon gift list where you can have things delivered to them directly.
