A wee heads up to to anybody who rides up at Beecraigs. IMHO its probably best avoided just now. I was up there today and there has been some serious windblow
On initial inspection the area to the south of Balvormie carpark has been flattened, the road down past the loch heading up to the sawmill is blocked by the devastated go-ape area with lots of very large windblow.
I have not been able to access the interior of the park yet but I would imagine there to be more of the same.
Be aware that as well as the trees already down there are many branches and crowns still up in the canopy, these can come down unexpectedly and silently even when it seems still (thats why they're known as widow makers). I'm not trying to be an alarmist just keep us safe.
