No time to make bread last night so I'm popping round the corner to pick up a Buritto and Churros.

Beef and butternut squash stew with stilton dumplings and some bread I got from an artisan baker next to Wheelbase in Staveley yesterday.

It's treacle with apple and cinnamon, and my mouth is drooling at the thought!

Brilliant!!

I'm a similar boat but I grabbed a cuppa soup.

Currently drinking it know and it's horrible. Why was it in my house?!?

Pork curry. Recipe was for beef curry, but there was pork in the fridge and it needed cooking. Very nice it is too.

Cold overcooked hence crunchy Morrisons pizza. It's like a food hangover from last nights meh dinner.

Cheese is a weird colour and tastes just of salt.

Massive hunks of roast ham I hacked off a joint this morning with an axe, wedged between 2 rounds of bread it looks like I removed from the loaf with a wood saw. And loads of salad cream. It is the Brian Blessed of butties. Maybe lacking a little finesse, but you wouldn't argue with its massive brutalist charm 😀

mayo on bread yuch !

Onion Baji and Mango Chutney wrap, salt and vinegar crisps, kit kat 🙂

EDIT: Binners that's the sort of sandwhich you need to compress for a bit to squash it small enough to get in your mouth !

1 - cheese and tomato sandwich. Ok cheese, not great
2 - should have been lemon curd sandwich but I somehow forgot the lemon curd and a margarine sandwich doesn't appeal at all, so a spot of improvisation and it's a plain chocolate digestive sandwich. Which I wouldn't recommend.

handful of mixed nuts.. which sounds quite holy, but I'm about to head into town so anything could happen

EDIT: Just had to beef this up with chilli pickled beetroot, sliced yellow pepper, guacamole and oatcakes.. I wasn't gonna make it to the front door otherwise

left over bacon steamer from last night, served with parsley sauce

(make a dumpling/suet pastry, roll out, add chopped onions, parsley and in this case about 500g of chopped bacon offcuts, rollup like a swiss roll, wrap in greaseproof paper and steam, serve with fresh pasley sauce)

That was bloody great! And you were right Jambalaya - like all the best butties, it did have to be compressed 😉

Salad cream - the most underrated, and unfairly maligned condiment of them all?

Ham cheese and chutney (apple and plum) on wholegrain - a sarnie I make for myself too often and have now grown very bored of - was hoping for more inspiring lunches in this thread, so far there is too much shop bought stuff in here!

Home made beef stew, with leeks, carrots, mushrooms and loads of beans (Aduki / borlotti / black eyed)

I`m back on a kind of iDave diet and making a big stew or Chilli at the weekend, does my lunches all week.

Feeling pretty peckish now though it has to be said ;o)
