I though Muse were taking the piss last night. Liam on the otherhand isn't up to much without his big brother.

Muse are great live. Last night's performance was as deliberately absurd as Eric Idle's - not sure what the rest of the world would have made of it though?

Agree about Beady Eye though - Andy Bell should get the hell out, make up with Mark Gardener and reboot Ride.

There's not enough pretty green in this town that would make me go and see this (stuck in the 90's) lout live

Loved it when that geezer knocked his front teeth out.

Does Liam have some sort of cocaine-related voice injury? Sounded sheeeite.

As bad as Oasis got, he always had a great voice.

Personally thought by far the biggest pile of nonsense was jessie J singing (wailing) queen songs. Talk about killing the music - the crowd were up singing and joining in with the freddie video wall, then she came on and it all went wrong. Would have been better just leaving the video playing, and less insulting to his memory! (and I actually quite like Jessie J's music, she was just the wrong person)

Much better than Paul Rogers, though; and I absolutely loved Free.

Liam did sound really bad though. Sad to say but I thought George Michael was by far and above the best. Saying that feels so wrong...

Coyote - i very concerned about your comment - GEORGE MICHAEL was the best performer on last night??

WHAT??

I gave up and switched of when he finished Freedom an he seemed to be finishing his set, then started of on some new sh*te song no one had ever heard. The pause between the 2 songs suggested to me that they didn't want him to play the second song - and they shouldn't have

I thought it was meant to be a celebration of British music - not free publicity of unreleased material??

Ray Davis, on the other hand, was as great as ever! ๐Ÿ˜€

I know and I feel dirty saying it. Believe me it is not an indication of his greatness or my musical taste more a reflection of the dire nature of the rest of it.

Ray Davies? How many 1000V did they need to put through him to get him on stage.

Still sulking because they ignored Motorhead, the greatest British rock and roll band going. 8)

Rewatch Muse and look at the massive grin on the drummer's face, and try not to take them seriously.

I've seen them live. I thought they were terrible.

Moonlight Medicine is one of the best songs ever written.

There was an official song for the Olympics ? So why did they play the theme from Chariots of Fire pretty much constantly ? I hope that Vangelis guy still gets the royalties.

Christ...its impossible to please everyone with music, we all have our likes and dislikes! Generally though I think they did a mighty fine job and thought Jessie was great doing Freddie!

(and I'm a huge Queen fan)

It's personal choice, I didn't like the Ed Sheeran bit, thought the Kaisers were better at being the Who than the Who, loved Fat Boy Slim and then thought the Who were great anyway. I wanted to be snooty about Jessie J but really enjoyed it.

Overall it was a great party on TV and I would have loved to have been there.

I think there was a mahooosssiivvveee missed opportunity when Beady Eye came on..

I mean..

Bradders plays a Gahuitarrrr doesn't he, he's a mate of Liams and Paul Wellers too.. This could have been an ideal opportunity to get him to play on stage with them on one song..

Now that would have been just the best fitting end to the Games.

As to GM, I thought he was great.
As to Queen, I thought they were shite and took too much of the stage time up.
As to JJ, thought she has a great voice but no place in the closing ceremony.
As to Rappers (Yo!) all 3 of em', they too had no place unless they were from the East End (were they??)
As to missed acts.. Paloma Faith is from the East End, shuduva had her on.
As to ELO, no, no thanks, wrong, just wrong.
As to One Direction, yes include them and get them to sing two songs,
As to The Who, yes they were ok and I think represented the UK Image well..
As to Ed Shearan doing Flyod.. perfect.

It was all going so well until you suggest One Direction doing two songs! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
