Anyone hear this interview? Probably the most heartbreaking story I've heard from the mouth of the person involved. Politics and the issues aside the fact he knows who did it and can't speak for fear of his family being pursued is just awful. Makes you realise just how far there is still to go in NI.
Remarkable piece of radio - it brings home the true horror of what went on in the troubles, that this wasn't just some form of righteous campaign against the British government/army, but a campaign of violence, fear and intimidation against civilians, including their own community!
It remains a real failing that the opportunity for a proper truth and reconciliation commission was missed.
Maybe Adams* will have heard it and fess up. Somehow doubt it.
*he's not the only one that needs to, on all sides
Had to pull over.......
Made me very unhappy.
