I know it's off topic, but I'm just reading about the battle - what a truly astonishing sequence of events, heroism, spin, propaganda, PR and valiance!

You should read about it.

My favourite combatants - Capitane Jean Lucas of the Redoubtable.

4'10", stood on his poop with a brace of pistols and a sabre, demanding his colours be nailed to the mast!

The American sailor on Victory who pushed his way to the front of the queue for breakfast as the Flagship led the advance. When the first French balls struck the ship one tore his head off and his tongue was sent flying across the gun deck to stick (and sizzle) on the still-hot copper pot containing breakfast.
The crew thought this was highly amusing and a judgement from God for pushing in!

Is this a specific book you're recommending or just the general topic? Would recommend anyone go and visit HMS Victory in Portsmouth - undoubtedly a national treasure!
