Stopped on the trail and saw something running away and thought it was a deer. Decided to loop behind the deer and flush it out back to another rider who wanted a close up picture.
Came across the bambi below and took a snap. Carried on and was back with other who said they saw a fox. Told them about the deer and went back to look again and it was gone... in minutes. I reckon it was a mountain lion had it 😉
North Downs?

Good choice of bike...
Nice pussy.
There are persistent rumors of a large predatory cat on the Berwyn mountains in North Wales, oddly the same line of hills that the 'British Roswell' happened on in the 70's
Doh, a deer!
There are a lot more feral / black dogs kicking about than most people think and they're not stupid, they don't hunt in packs, they leave the sheep alone you never see them in the open. They never stay in one area for long either.
A lot more likely than a lion :|, as is a fox for that matter. Cats tend to attack from above back / head / neck, while dogs and foxes go for the stomach / neck. Dogs will beat things up up pretty bad generally.
HHmm, how South Glos? http://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/latestheadlines/4382835.Mystery_after__big_cat__spotted_near_Trowbridge/
