Its a bit of a trek for you Craig.

The woods to the nroth of my folks has been thinned and stuff over the last few years, its all looking quite nice.

Amazes me that I didn't make use of it for riding in the twenty years I was there!

Yeah, my mum and dad have started cycling every day - up from the village and past the Paton's and Morrison's and back down again. They've even walked over the top of the hill through those woods from there and then round towards Logie etc. They'd never been up there in the 40 years they've lived in the village.

If I'm visiting and have my bike, I'll ride up past the quarry, up through the woodland walk, up the field to the top of the hill then follow the singletrack right back down to where your mum and dad's place is - it's actually a great descent.

What have folk been building?

Looks like jumps and stuff tying bits and pieces together.

Theres always been fun bits and pieces but alot of it dead ended. Down towards the reapers is steep and a giggle. But the bed of pine needles can lead to comedy all wheels locked sliding.

Yeah Phil.

Someone posted about living near st andrews and loads of people admitted to living there.

My and yourguitarhero grew up there.

i've only seen photos of bits dunno how much has been done overall. Might just be kids and terrible deathtraps but the bone dryness makes it look fun.

Balmullo is in the good bit of fife.

Interesting fact Lucklawhill is the final hill in the Ochils.

And an ancient hunting park for the kings if Scotland.... Apparently.

I might go and have a wee look. Is it in the thinned area?
There was some really old stuff on the Dundee side of the hill.

Yeah, I was there the other day. I believe a new trail has appeared named 'covid 19'. Great little spot!

Meanwhile, just up the hill from Ceres in a different direction...

I won't say where they are as they're very close to the estate's house but I had to pass by them as a dairy farmyard was closed off and asking folk to avoid under Covid-19.

@easdoesit I'm just up the hill from you in the wee village with the posh restaurant.

Well from the non expert eye of my mum and a couple of pictures.

It looks like they have some sort of descent off the hill, crossing the main track where it intersects with the forestry track into the thinned area.

If you get there and its rubbish don't blame me!

Aah didn't know that, no - I'm not and I guess it shows! Been here seven years or so now.

The top half of the trail is pretty good. A lot of work has been put into clearing it through the undergrowth and it's a nice ribbon of singletrack down to the main track.
The bottom half after the main track is still a work in progress, nothing really cleared yet.
There's a jump over the ditch onto the main track (flat landing) then a kicker next to a tree on the other side of the track leading into the bottom half. They're solid enough but they're too close together, 4m from the edge of the ditch to the start of the kicker ramp. I guess the first few people to try both sections together will work that out😯
It's called lockdown on Strava.
It'll be worth another look when the bottom half is done & I'd happily ride the top section again.
